  27.     Does Compaq PC mean DOS? Windows? Unix? OS/2?
  28.     Hint: about 4 Kermit window slots, 1-2KB Kermit packets. You will
  29. have to run your own tests because there are two ends involved.
  30.     Hint, sort of: turn off control code prefixing for all but 1,3,127,
  31. and these plus 128. No XON/XOFF flow control, please. Personally I don't
  32. turn off prefixing and performance is still good (about 100KB/sec, file bytes,
  33. from MSK on a 486-66 DOS machine to C Kermit on my Unix machine). Disk drives
  34. on the Comqaq can make a marked difference in performance, so watch what's
  35. loaded on the machine.
